Dr. Danilo Coco, a practicing Surgeon in Ospedali Riuniti Marche Nord, Pesaro, Italy was always keen on adopting new surgical techniques that could benefit his patients. In many cases of Colorectal Cancer, he observed recurrence in many of his patients. So, he wanted to adopt a combined procedure which includes cytoreductive surgery (CRS) with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC). But he was curious to understand what literature says about this combined procedure.
We helped Dr. Coco in retrieving, analyzing various literatures and supported him to publish a review article in a reputed journal called “Medica – a Journal of Clinical Medicine” under the section “State of the Art”. This combined procedure showed encouraging results in terms of overall survival, lower complication rates and better patient outcomes in many published findings. This helped Dr. Coco to arrive at a clear conclusion about this combined procedure and incorporated this in his practice. This collaboration made us to plan future works and today we worked together for nearly 18+ similar types of projects.

Call for a Change
BMCH (www.bmch.edu.in) is a largest Tertiary Care Health Centre facilitating outstanding educational experiences to the medical students and community-oriented quality health care services to the society. This institution always wanted to initiate clinical research activities and to take part in the development of science and innovations. Though, right network with the industry and execution was the limitation.
Right collaboration matters
BMCH partnered with me to develop and deliver a strategy to make their presence in Research Domain. The first step taken was establishing a Research and Development Unit, where two major verticals were planned and executed. One was Clinical Research wherein Institute was connected with different Clinical Research Organizations, Site Management Organizations and Sponsors from PAN India as well as across the globe. Second was launching of a Research Journal called International Journal of Pre-Clinical and Clinical Research (www.ijpccr.com).
Valuable difference
Today, Research and Development of Unit is efficiently working and facilitating more than 10 clinical trials in the area of COVID device, Dermatology, Urology, Pediatrics, Pulmonary Medicine, Surgery etc. Also, the research journal helped many researchers to publish lot of research findings over the period of one year from various Institutions.

With this result, Biogetica approached to conduct a study and publish the data. We helped to design a Patient Reported Outcome (PRO) research and conducted the study among the patients who had received the treatment with this formulation. Further we helped in writing the manuscript that got published in a reputed journal “International Journal of Research in Ayurveda and Pharmacy”.
